The Business Factory Aero (BFAero), the leading accelerator in the aerospace, aeronautics and unmanned vehicles (UAVs) industry, has opened the call for its 6th edition with a commitment to focus all the programme’s resources on internationalisation. Promoted by the Xunta de Galicia, this new edition opens its doors to entrepreneurs and startups from all over the world, offering them the opportunity to develop their projects in a unique acceleration ecosystem. In addition, BFAero reinforces its support for the international expansion of participating companies, facilitating their entry into global markets and creating new business opportunities in the sector.

Differential aspects of BFAero

The 6th edition of BFAero is distinguished by a number of key aspects that make it a unique accelerator within the aeronautics and aerospace sector. Its specialised approach, the resources available and its connection with the global market differentiate it from other similar initiatives, offering entrepreneurs an ideal environment for the development and consolidation of their projects.

Among the most differential aspects we find:

1. Aeronautical and aerospace vertical offering an adapted environment with mentors, resources and synergies between projects.

2. Market focus, the projects are oriented towards solving real problems in the sector, which allows them to find a commercial outlet.

3. Wide range of advanced means and resources, which facilitate the agile development of technological solutions.

4. Support from an open innovation ecosystem. Collaboration with public and private agents in the aerospace sector and unmanned vehicles favours synergies between projects and institutions.

5. Support for the complete cycle of entrepreneurial projects. BFAero offers three types of support (incubation, acceleration and consolidation), covering all stages of entrepreneurship, from ideation to business consolidation.

6. International scope. It receives projects from all over the world and supports their internationalisation, helping them to access global markets.

7. Investment attraction. Promotes the approach of projects to public and private investment entities, which can provide them with additional development capacities, as well as access to partnerships and new markets.

What does the 6th Edition offer?

In the last two editions, BFAero has focused its efforts on offering projects a set of expert mentors in areas such as aeronautics, UAV regulations, intellectual property, business management or marketing, and on increasing the number of sessions for the benefit of the projects, reaching more than 157 in the fifth edition of the programme

The 6th edition of BFAero comes with a renewed proposal to transform startups into innovative, viable and scalable companies within the aeronautical and aerospace sector. The accelerator offers participants a unique ecosystem with specialised training, expert advice, networking, access to investors and two workspaces in the Pazo de Feiras de Lugo, near the Rozas aerodrome and the Centro de Investigación Aeroportada de Rozas (CIAR). In addition, it provides financial support through grants, equity loans and possible equity investments, thus ensuring the sustainable growth of the projects.

The programme will also provide personalised advice tailored to each project through technical and management mentoring, collaborations in the sector and visibility and dissemination in the media and social networks, as well as through the different events and events organised within the framework of the programme.

An accelerator with global impact

With almost 50 success stories and a track record of national and international recognition for accelerated projects, the Business Factory Aero has established itself as the ideal platform to promote a project in the sector. Since its launch in 2018, it has generated a global impact, accelerating 46 startups and consolidating a dynamic ecosystem that has crossed borders. Companies such as FuVeX, which participated in the 4th edition, have achieved significant milestones, such as the signing of the largest civil drone contract in Spain with Naturgy. In addition, the programme has contributed to the expansion of the sector in Galicia, consolidating Aeromedia as a benchmark operator and attracting start-ups such as Kreios Space and FuVex.

BFAero has been recognised as the best accelerator in Spain in the FuncasUniversidad Rey Juan Carlos 2024-2025 Ranking, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the promotion of startups in the aerospace sector.

The Galician aeronautical ecosystem, made up of more than 55 entities, has become a benchmark for the development and scaling of disruptive technologies in the aerospace industry. Thanks to this collaborative network, the entrepreneurs have gained access to 31 potential customers or ‘early adopters’ and 7 potential investors, strengthening the role of BFAero as an accelerator with global impact.

Key dates and phases of the programme

The 6th edition of BFAero follows a timetable structured in different key phases, starting with the call for applications and the registration process, which will be open until 20 March 2025 at 15:00 (UTC+1). Only applications submitted according to the rules, by the deadline and through the appropriate channel, and which have fully completed the questionnaire will be considered. After the closing date for applications, the selection phase will begin, in which the applications will be evaluated and the projects that will enter the programme will be selected.

Those selected will move on to the entry phase, in which they will have 1 month to provide the required documentation, sign the necessary agreements and complete other formalities related to their entry into BFAero. Once their access has been formalised, the incubation, acceleration and consolidation phases will begin according to the schedule established in the Framework Agreement.
